Yarn ball swap
I had a totally awesome package in the mail today – my first Yarn Ball. I forgot to take a photograph before delving into it
I unwound it, to take a look at the colours, during today’s spinning group. The colours are spot on, with loads of purples and jades (very “me”.) There’s a load of texture in there too. It’s really gorgeous. Satiny ribbon tapes and lush chenilles…
Halfway through the ball I found a green tea and lemongrass body bar, and at the centre a bag of yarn snippets for adding to hand made paper. And, if that were not enough, there were two skeins of purple embroidery threads included – one of floss and one metallic and glittery.
I feel thoroughly spoiled, and rather bashful about the meagre balls that I sent out myself for this swap.
Many thanks to Gogo – I am so going to enjoy playing with these fibres.
I cannot decide whether to do a freeform knit from the ball as it stands and just see what emerges, or whether to separate the yarns out and use them for a variety of crafty projects. Photos when I either knit it up, or separate them out and make a hanger for them. Soon, anyway.
